How to Create a Custom Bicycle Route

Step 1.  

From the toolbar at the top of the map, first select the "Create a Bike Route" button with your mouse pointer. Once the button is selected it will change colors, as shown below.

Step 2.  

Next, zoom in to the place on the map where you want to create your bike route. Using the pointer on your mouse, click once on the part of the road that you want to begin your route on. When it is selected, the portion of the road will be highlighted in black, as show below.

Step 3.

Once a road segment is selected, take note of a new window that appears on your screen. It may end up placed behind the window with the map in it. This window displays each road segment that is currently selected, along with the name of the street, the bicycle rating level, and the mileage. You can also choose to delete segments using this window. Continue selecting road segments for your route. When you are finished creating your route, you can either print it or clear the list and start over.
